It's all snowy here, hence the icon - apparently the only one I have, in over 100, that features snow.

Apparently a severe weather warning has been issued for Kent valid from now till Tuesday. Will be interesting to see how all this turns out :) We're well provisioned, so lots and lots of snow would be lovely :D

I was amused by a piece in the February 2009 issue of BBC History magazine ("Footsteps" section) about the Jorvik Viking Centre, which I think will strike a chord with all who have visited. I've transcribed it below - sorry for any typing errors :)

I'm heading to Goole (not to be confused with Google which is what I nearly always type by accident >.<) in Yorkshire very shortly with [livejournal.com profile] no1typo for a few days to visit relatives. I probably shan't be online, but I'll be contactable on my mobile (see the contact details post for my number [friendslocked]). I shall also probably be tweeting. This is me on Twitter.

Have a lovely few days people :) Write lots of interesting things for me to read when I get back!

MPs and FOI

Typical, that on the day the Government withdraws the plan to keep MPs expenses secret my MP should write back to me about voting against the proposed measure.

For good measure, I'm putting a copy of his reply here. Bits in italics were handwritten and not always very clear ;)

Letter from Julian Brazier )

In other news, should you have any spare cash lying around (I know that this is unlikely given the current economic climate) and fancy putting it towards a cool cause, the National Railway Museum in York are trying to gather funds so they can finish their restoration of The Flying Scotsman. "Steam our Scotsman" - the campaign to raise money to finish the restoration.

Guy came and picked us up and took us to tyre place. Cheap tyres yay. Got to goole, had dress fitted. I looked amazing - no piccies of it cos otherwise ben might see ;) Lovely couple of days :))

Good day, long drive back. A month today :o Four weeks 2.5 days. Wow and yay. Feel excited about wedding :D

New piccies up on my website - here for the few of the foorah party and here for Goole's river.

Had nice talk with Pete yesterday cos he came to work with me and that was very jibbly :)

Muddle of emotions at the moment. Small things can seem huge and set me off or not. Recovery sometimes as hard as being ill :| Therefore not going to go in to stuff here, needless to say I'm greatful for ben and foo and rah and all the rest of my friends for putting up with me.

Leave a comment with your name if you want to know what I really think of you, and I’ll reply and tell you. No lies, all honesty (or whatever came to mind at the time...)

Post it in your journal after I do yours so I can see the reverse

(This could end badly... so think before you ask....)

In other news, my dissertation is now in properly and yesterday was the one year and counting mark for my wedding \o/ Went to Frankie and Benny's which was fairly standard execpt for the puddings which are fantastic and teh real reason to go... :D

My aunt from Yorkshire said she'd make my dress and Amy (one of my bridesmaids) is excited about her role. See piccies of the weekend on mum's website.

Work not bad tho I got taxed nearly £60 - need to yell at Agency then inland revenue I thinks.
