Really a very nothing sort of day
Sunday, September 7th, 2003 10:45 pmA lot of sleep involved and I'm still very tired. I guess I shoulda gone to bed earlier last night but there were things that I felt were more important going on. I'm off to bed soon anyway, having had a nice bath that Phil persudaded me to have to help me relax. I'm starting to feel tense again cos I have work tomorrow. Not reached "Physically sick" yet but when I think of stella it's never far away.
Started perusing newsgroups again and immediately got drawn into "Why GWB Will Never Win" on a history one. It's pretty much how George W. Bush can't win the next election.

Well I don't know about in the US but here in the UK the opinion of the
general public is that the US and the UK went to war in Iraq on faulty
intellegence, moreover intelligance that was known to be faulty. I'm
assuming those are the lies referred to.

LOL. Of course it wasn't a delusion but I don't think that the attacks
on September 11th 2001 can be used to justify all wars waged by western
powers for a finite number of years.
The cynics would say that the war in Iraq was not motivated through a
need to ensure the safety of the Western world from the attacks of
terrorists, more that it would bring cheaper oil.
If the second Gulf War has brought about anything security wise it is
less security, not more for the Coalition. We have alienated states
in the middle east that were previously friendly and done nothing to
cause the average Iraqi to trust us to bring them security than Saddam.
Those are the facts. Most of the people I know in the UK want GWB to
lose the next US election in the hope that the world, and certainly the
US, will be come a less hawkish place.
What happened on September 11th was terrible and can never be justified,
but I think it's time that people stop using it as an excuse for
recationary and ill thought out policies.
Let's stop taking the names of those who died in vain.
For those of you not familiar...my writing was the one with no ">"'s at the beginning of the lines.
For my trouble I got this:
One of the greatest men in British history was a conserative hawk, if not
for him and other American hawks you would now be speaking german its just
to damned bad that most of you have now become a group of socialist wimps.
But never fear if in the future your in trouble again some stupid American
hawk will come to your aid and save your wimpish ass again.
*Giggle* Some Americans can be so touchy about this stuff!
Talked to darren some tonight, fixed my malfunctioning computer clock on my own and got VPN up and running again (ok, latter two were this morning)
Foo and rah gone off to Leicestershire (sp) to prepare for wedding. Stupid me misses being able to talk to them already... gah! Have to survive whole day of stella tomorrow with no emails from rah! :o
ANyway, I'm tired and somewhat anxious now so I shall wander off to bed.
