Bangers and Mash and Bob *giggle* (It's all in the saying :D)
Saturday, August 16th, 2003 09:10 pmWhere to start...
Ah. I know.
Thursday
Characterised by the fact that it was a very nothing sort of day. Lots of emails again from my friends who could email me so...yay!
Interesting discussion about renewable energy on irc which led to some later events of which I am aware but really can't be bothered to get worked up about. Umm...toad in the hole for dinner was nice. And then bed...um, yes...that's about it.
Friday
Day started badly and got worse as it went on basically. Started off finding out about what I considered a breach of trust, tho it was done in all good faith and then trying to reboot the gateway to find it wouldn't restart but had to go into work and didn't have time to tinker. Told phil to boot it up and see if he could tell what was wrong. Turns out (after many *many* phone calls to Philip and long time on the phone) that Hard Disk had an unfixable error. So it was pretty much dead...
Only had 30mins for lunch but Rah had a brainwave of asking if I could use the extra time to go early. I was allowed so went on earlier train but it was delayed and pulled into the station just lierally as the Canters one was leaving the platform. Luckily I only had to wait an extra 30mins and foo and rah picked me up at the station 45 mins earlier than they would have before so it wasn't all a loss :)
This is where the day started improving. We talked and foo played piano (he's *really* good!) and I sang a little, then we ate dinner and ended up watching Anti Trust, which is actually a really good filum. I may have to go and buy myself a copy. Evening was rounded off with blackadder which was funneh :D I really enjoyed it. Foo and Rah walked me back to 19b where we said hi to skel and I went to bed. Slept surprisinly well... Leading into
Saturday
Was woken early by window banging open and shut in the breeze, so got up and showered and dressed (hope I didn't use all the Hot Water) and then read my book for a bit, going round to the foorahs at just gone 10am. Rah and I talked lots, I irced for a bit from rahs computer and then at just gone midday mamma arrived bearing with her two b0rked computers. Foo was very very patient and tried to fix them and, with a break for lunch (Jacket tatoes and cheeeeeeeeese for me, other stuff for weird people who like tuna and other such oddments ;)), he got them both working at some semblance of normal. Greyhavens, thanks to a new Hard Drive. Talking, more foo piano playing and a little more of me singing... that's about it...except for the tickling *glares* and the stalking of me with a camera *glares again*
*grins*
ANyway, Greyhavens up again and working normally it would seem.
I now have two songs in my head, both ones that I sang at foo and rahs. They've both got beautiful melodies and I love both but each is tricky in it's own way.
Memory has low G notes which are *just* within my range. I don't think I hit all every single time so I'll have to work on that end of my range.
Midnight, not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory?
She is smiling alone
In the lamplight, the withered leaves collect at my feet
And the wind begins to moan
Memory, All alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days
I was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again
Every streetlamp seems to beat
A fatalistic warning
Someone mutters and the street lamp gutters
And soon
It will be morning
Daylight
I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life
And I mustn't give in.
When the dawn comes, tonight will be a memory too
And a new day will begin
Burnt out ends of smokey days
The stale cold smell of morning
The streetlamp dies, another night is over
Another day is dawning...
Sunlight through the trees in summer
endless masquerading...
Like a flower, as the day is breaking,
The memory is fading...
Touch me,
It's so easy to leave me
All alone with my memory
Of my days in the sun...
If you touch me, you'll understand what happiness is
Look, a new day has begun.
The Phantom is a challenge to the other end of my range and I'm afraid I may have deafened foo by going for a note just a little too high. Can't remember which note it was, but obviously some running scales up to the top of my range wouldn't go amiss... Think I also need to work on my breathing more so I have the power I used to...In sleep he sang to me, in dreams he came
That voice which calls to me, and speaks my name
And do I dream again, for now I find
The phantom of the opera is there, inside my mind
Sing once again with me, our strange duet
My power over you, grows stronger yet
And though you turn from me, to glance behind
The phantom of the opera is there, inside your mind
Those who have seen your face, draw back in fear
I am the mask you wear, it's me they hear
My spirit and your voice, in one combined
The phantom of the opera is there, inside my mind
He's there, the phantom of the opera
He's there, the phantom of the opera
In all your fantasies, you always knew
That man and mystery, were both in you
In in this labyrinth, where night is blind
The phantom of the opera is there, inside my mind
Sing, my angel of music
He's there, the phantom of the opera.
Aaaaaawwww
Sing
Aaaaaawwww
Sing for me
Aaaaaawwww
Sing my angel of music
Aaaaaawwww
Sing for me!
AAAAAWWW......!!!!!
So the singing bug has well and truly bit me again and the computers that were fixed are working more or less normally (I say more or less because Gimli is still doing some very odd things)
Still, tomorrow is another day, and one day closer to the end of the month. (\o/ for exciting things on the 30th!!)
*stretches*
Bedtime now methinks!!
EDIT: I note how I give the bare bones of what was done and app-o-logies(! :D) for that but a lot of it for me was feelings. I had such I good time I can't descibe it and I'm so thankful for them having me over so much yesterday and today :) They always make me feel at ease and, bah, meswsing up again. Anyway, yes, thoroughly enjoyed it :)
