Better day working today
Tuesday, June 17th, 2003 10:48 pmI got to open some of the post and, off my own bat (so to speak) I asked about the sifting and someone gave me a hand doing some when the rush was over - I looked at the correspondance and worked out where it should go, then checked with Christopher (a good guy, northern accent..surprisingly old) taht I was right before I put it in the pigeonhole.
Kai (the other summer AA and second year geog at Queen Mary's) and I went over to Lunar and got our passes. Mine seems to be a permanent one..I think the dood got it wrong, but as it gives me certain privelges Kai (with a temp. one) doesn't get I'm not complaining...and I s'pose the Photo isn't that bad either.
I did some more deep-store stuff (what I was doing yesterday) again today...only 200 or so this time :D Seemed far less boring today...fewer to do, reading each one I did a bit, chatting to Kai and the rest and listening to my mini-discman until the battries gave out. I'm starting to get the hang of work again.
Still very tiring tho. And not exactly intellectually stimualting.
I could prolly call the day a "good" one if it weren't for 2 factors. Factor number one: had to go spend most of my lunch break in the bank so I could apply to extend my overdraft to about £2000...otherwise...well, bills to pay and nothing to pay with. Factor number two: The overwhelming heat coupled with no air conditioning at work. Was unbearabley sticky in VH. The storm that followed would have been nice if it hadn't struck just as I was coming home. The thunder right on top of me scared me. The sky was the darkest I had seen and the rain...was bad...but the thunder and lightening didn't bother me except for that one clap of thunder that surprised me and thus scared me. The thunder and lightening came almost as one and it was so loud >.<
Anyways, I'm off to sleep soon having spent a productive evening helping Philip revise for his last GCSE paper (history natch. Don't somehow think that I'm very good at it tho :() and then watching CSI with mamma. Having had no dinner last night I managed to force some down this evening and hopefully the weather'll get cooler and I can start eating properly again.
