Monday's jibbling
Tuesday, December 17th, 2002 08:36 amWell, this needed to be updated so I figured right now while I was eating my coco pops wasn't a bad idea at all...
Well, lets start where I left off Sunday night. Started the disk defragging at 2am but made too much noise and woke up Philip. He got cranky at me and gave me a lecture about sleeping properly but I managed to placate him by swapping keyboards. His crap noisy one for my nice quiet one. Anyway, was woken up at half 6 by mamma needing driving to work (the price of getting the car)so drove her to work then got back here at 7.50 so had to rush out again with Philip so he got to school on time. All this while still in my pj's too! Anyway, got back and jibbled on the 'pooter for an hour or so then decided I was cold and sleepy so I jibbled back to bed to sleep for a bit and was joined later by a black furry cat called George. Woke up at 2pm, played on irc for 40 minutes then went and collected Philip from school and a rather "tipsy" mother from her office Christmas party. She doesn't often drink and she'd had 3 glasses of white wine...
Anyway, jibbled on the net for a bit, then had dinner - pizza hut pizza. Phil and I went halves on a large one with stuffed crust. My 1st in 3 months. Bliss. Utter Bliss. Got ready to go to certificate collection thing then told Laura I was just on my way over to hers. She wasn't home from work yet so I drove the l-o-n-g way. All around Banstead and Reigate and made it to hers just as she pulled up. We gossiped for a bit about my doings at uni and her stuff then went. Got there about 5 mins early and the 'frectory looked scarily empty so we wandered round the new block. Very nice! We're quite jealous but in discussing it later we decided that we had no desire whatsoever to be back there...
We got our certificates - vewwy pwetty and some of our coursework, i.e, my English Lit and our Key Skills (amusingly, hers was all there while mine had a little yellow post it attached: "No numeracy, no I.T". Not at all odd, cos I had refused to do them. Only had communication cos I couldn't avoid it! Grrr). We then mingled for half an hour which was all either of us could stand then we escaped back to hers. Skel had put in an appearance but he stuck it for even less time than we did, escaping after less than 5 minutes.
Came back here by half nine and usurped the computer. Pete had his webcam up again and so I showed him to mum who thinks he looks lovely! Played on the net on and off till 2am, finalising, among other things, a new computer for me that skel is going to build for me cos he's nice like that. Then to bed. WIth yet another cat. (Tiptoes this time) And this morning was pretty much he same as yesterday 'cept I have yet to go back to bed and as I have christmas shopping to do I don't think I will be, despite a very insitent George sitting on my lap atm. I'm off to Chris' tomorrow for the day which I'm really looking forward to! Yay! :)
The events of yesterday however proved to Laura and I one thing - college is bad for our self esteem. Both of us feel so much better about ourselves now than we did then that we're almost unrecognisable. I thought when I was at college that it was really good but Uni has been so much better (even before I fell in with the minkees and got myself a boyfriend) that it seems college only seemed that good because High School had been so shitty.
Anyway, I'm going to give into the demands of my cat now and sleep for a bit...then I *will* go to Sutton to shop. Yes. :)
