Command and Conquer = Vista?
Wednesday, March 28th, 2007 11:27 amCommand and Conquer 3 is now out and in an effort to find somewhere where theoretically I could buy it and take it home today I went and searched the Dixon's website.
On typing in "Command and Conquer" to the search box I admit I was dubious. With Currys and PC World it only brought up Generals. We already have that. I was more than a little surprised when instead of anything even vaguely related it brought up "Microsoft Vista Home Basic Upgrade" as the top of two hits (the other was an Altec speaker).
So does this show a hidden agenda for Microsoft? Either way, it's a bit bizarre...

BTW - the best price so far is Play who have 25% off (selling it for £29.99 rather than £39.99) so I may well purchase it from there and wait the extra days.

Date: Wed, Mar. 28th, 2007 03:42 pm (UTC)TBH, this is an above-average result for Dixons's piss-poor search engine, as gamers, at least of the Dixons-frequenting variety, are fairly likely to be interested in buying copies of Windows (everybody else gets it OEM, or pirates it). That's assuming that the search engine knows that C&C is a game (and is not displaying the result as it's not available yet, or something), as opposed to extreme randomness. You never know with Dixons.
