1. Zip forwards 10 years time. Where do you see yourself? What will you be doing?
I see myself mother of one, pregnant with my second, a successful teacher, happily married (and still very much in love) and owner of my own home. *touches wood*

2. You've been given the incredible oppurtunity to rid the world of one evil (war, famine, sickness or whatever you think). What would you do and why?
I think I'd choose conflict - once people can work together then all other barriers can be overcome.

3. What's your favourite gemostone and why?
Sapphire - I love the beautiful dark blue a really good Sapphire gives off :)

4. Do you believe in ghosts? Had any supernatural experiences?
I don't believe in ghosts as such - I do believe in spirits, which in my opinion are different - you can sense them but they can do you no harm and you can't see them.

I also don't know that I'd call my experiences supernatural but I've felt many times as if someone is behind me when they aren't. I've also had a very real dream in which my father talked to me, but I'm still not sure what to make of either of those instances ;)

5. Which country would you most like to visit, if money were no object.
ooh - tough one! I think either China or Australia, with the US as a close third.

1. Do you ahve a historical hero? who is it and why (hope noone else asked you now, and yes I may be copying you :p)
I do - kinda. My answer to this is going to sound like a cop out and I guess to some extent it is. I admire the ordinary people of history who have just got on with things when the world around them was reeling with chaos. Examples: The jews who when denied everything by the Nazis still conducted themselves with quiet dignity, The children forced to work from an early age who could still find the fun in life, the housewife who made a family run on whatever her husband earnt that week.

2. If you could choose a period to live in which would you choose?
Hrm - either the Victorian period or the era of the Second World War. Both are really interesting for me - plus I love the clothes that the Victorians wore ;)

3. if you had to give up some of your knowledge would you rather give up some knowledge you have about computer or history?
Argh! This is very hard :S

I suppose I would choose to give up computer knowledge because as much as it interests me history is what gets under my skin and makes me think. I really love computers but I'm passionate about history.

4. What annoys you most about a person?
There are a couple of things - I hate smarminess in a person - that feeling you get where a person is leading you on. It's a sort of exaggerated smoothness I guess.

I also really really hate being patronised. That can cause an instant and lasting dislike of someone...

5. If you could make a present (money isn't important) to anyone, who and what would it be?
I'd pay off the debts of all my family and friends.

1. What is your favourite colour and why? 50 words minimum.
Blue. No, you're not getting 50 words ;P

2. How are you feeling about Jesus and Christianity in general at the moment?
Loaded question :P It's actually one I'm trying to keep in the back of my mind at the moment. Ambiguous is the best answer I can give. You've read about my experiences in Mormonism and that should give you some idea as to why I'm more than a little nervous of organised religion. I just need some time to sort out my head and work out where I stand.

To stop being quite so cryptic: I believe in a supreme power, but I don't know that I'd label it the godhead. I believe the power is benevolent and if there is a heaven you only have to be a good person to get there. I'm not sure I believe that Christ was the son of God, nor am I convinced the bible is the word of God. I certainly don't think it should be read literally and without consideration for the way things were at the time it was written.

[disclaimer]No - this is not the opening for any religious commenting on my journal - for or anti. Any such comments will be removed.[/disclaimer]

3. Where are you happier, first year or now? Why?
Now. I'm much more sure of myself when I was then. The first year was fun but now I'm content in who I am, and where I'm going. I have friends, I know who they are and I care about them. In addition to that the downs such as last year make the ups like this year so much more special.

4. What's been the best single moment of your life since coming to university?
Getting engaged to Ben :D

5. What is your dream job?
Teaching secondary history.

Comment if you want to ask me 5 or want me to ask you 5.

I wasn't going to start a debate on it at all, I was tempted to put a note to that effect in the question but decided it wasn't necessary. :-P
