There are times when I'm researching for essays and things that I'm glad that I'm doing the degree I am. Today I had one of those moments while researching for my Cinema and Society essay.

"Despite the stenuously maintained absence of overt sexuality it is tempting to read the film's climax using sexual metaphors. The building up to the final air raid has been precise, patient but increacinglt tense - there is only one possible release from tension, the destruction of the dams. The first few bombs miss their target or are dropped too early, so many premature ejaclations, until the huge dam cracks and bursts, unleashing torrents of water to the accompaniment of that infamous theme music and the pilots orgasmic cries of 'It's Gone...My God!' I wouldn't want to overstress this reading, but it is not without significance that a film that has so singlemindedly closed dow, repressed all less dramatic sexual avenues, offers such an almost parodic explosion of satisfaction at it's climax."

This was found on Page 38 of Nation Fictions - World War Two in British Films and Television, which, incidentally, can be found in the Library :)

In other news I'm doing ok atm. Well, I had a bad evening last night but apart from that...

I stayed at ben's for a couplea nights and I'm at home this weekend so that's all good :)

Work going well. Becky better again and back at school. Had nice cuddle this morning while watching sabrina the teenage witch.

Just about finished my research for HI669 essay so...Yay :)
