I am at telehouse this weekend for a whole weekend and I must admit, it started rather badly.

Yesterday ben and I left Canterbury for telehouse at 3:30 and arrived in Docklands at about 4:30. After that we had to sit in the lobby of the shitty travel lodge in which we are staying for two hours until the boss arrived. Then it took the shitty staff half an hour to check us in, then had to wait until 8:30 for dinner while the men tried to work out what they were doing. Following that, I sat through a really crap dinner (tiny steak that tasted of nothing and chips that tasted of grease) while the men talked about work and absolutely nothing that I could access. That continued into this morning.

Also, we ended up in one of the disabled rooms in the "hotel" which means you can only fill the bath to about 2 inches before it overflows, the shower head only comes up to my nose at its very highest and the sink almost breaks your back. Plus, there is no internet, dispite the description for the hotel saying there is some. Finally, my bedside light doesn't work. The place has never heard of Hot Chocolate which also makes me very stompy. Means I can't have a hot drink. Grr. Another night and day of this :( Also, it's cold and uncomfortable here :( Rar.

Which is why I was very glad when Philip offered to buy me lunch. He came on the DLR from Greenwich and we went back to Greenwich for a 'spoons, then back to his room where I fixed his HTML a bit :) After that we wandered back to East India Dock where I am based atm because we thought the DLR route was silly. Well, it is silly, but I admit, it's quicker than walking and certainly quicker than walking the route that Phil and I did. It was, however, a lovely walk with excellent company, and a really nice time was had by all. Except for:

To the little shit on a bike in Greenwich,

To you, little shit, who thought it would be funny to shove a half eaten fillet-o-fish into my shoulder as I walked into Greenwich from MacMillan Student Village pushing my brother's bike (he was off buying chocolate at the time), making my jumper, which I have to wear for another two days, smell of greasy horrible shit, I hope you fall off your mate's bike which you were on the back of and get permanent brain damage. You shoved it with such force that you made my shoulder hurt and made me feel vulnerable. I don't understand why you did it. I can't express how glad I am that I have such a fulfilling life that I do not need to go around doing such things. You are very lucky that my brother wasn't there or I am sure that he would have beaten you up for hurting and upsetting me. You really suck and make me virtually certain of the theory of evolution. I, for one, know that you have not yet made it past the gorilla stage.

Yours,

A really angry trainee teacher

Anyway, I had a lovely time with Philip and am thinking about accompanying him to the Cenotaph tomorrow. Depends if I can be arsed or not ;)

At the moment I'm back in Telehouse watching the battle of Britain on my lappy (already watched The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp and Apollo 13 (thanks [livejournal.com profile] no1typo and [livejournal.com profile] manyfacesofjase respectively) but I suspect that by tomorrow I will have watched all the DVDs I brought with me. Sucks. Feel all warm and glowy from my walk across Docklands. Yay!

ANyway, off for some more tasteless food now. BBiab to update my OtherJournal(tm) with my teacher training doings ;)
