I don't like Coffee because it contains a drug I really don't like and makes me go into panic mode. But thats just me. You could try iced coffee by the way, and other varieties of coffee. I like iced coffee a lot more than hot coffee - but it still makes me feel awful.
If you don't like it you don't like it. Theres a lot of people like that - myself included. You don't have to like it just because the Mormons didn't like it :D
Caffeine-free coffee? I've got a few friends who have adverse reactions to caffeine, but really like the flavour, so to buy caffeine-free coffee. I think Starbork sell at least two varieties.

I know :) But I've only really tried it once, so I wanted to try it again to see whether I did. The results of the poll show it's one of those things that you need to keep persevering with, though why people would keep going with a drink they hated I really don't know ;)
Anyway, ben likes coffee, so I'll try some of his starbucks purchases and see if I warm to it. If not, I really like hot chocolate, so I'm not losing out :)
I asked the poll questions because of a conversation I had with ben last night, and I ended up wondering why people stuck with it even though they hated it first time, and how many of them came to like it (though given the ages most people tried it, I'm starting to wonder if I'm too old now!)
Me either. For some reason though I keep thinking I should keep up trying Tea and Coffee. Maybe it's cos it's one of those areas where I feel "fussy" for asking for something else (and most catered things like meetings only have tea or coffee, so if you don't like, you're stuffed :|)
I guess what you could do is carry sachets of hot choc, as often catering can provide hot water on request as the tea urn will be hot water...
I don't think it's fussy not to drink tea or coffee; it's what I offer people by default, but I do try to offer alternatives hot choc, cold drinks etc etc.
Why don't Mormons like coffee? That strikes me as a rather odd prejudice… Alcohol, I can understand, but coffee?
As I mentioned in my answers, different preparation methods effect different flavours, so each brand of coffee has its own flavour. You also get different results from a caffetierve and an espresso machine, so it's really a case of playing around until you find one you like. I'm a bit biased, 'cause I like most coffee (except instant, bleurgh!), but I've recently found one that I really, really like made by Taylors of Harrogate called Havana Gold. You can get it in ASBO for about £2.50, and they do little two-three cup packets which are good for trying them.
If that's a bit strong, there's another one they do called Rich Italian, which is a bit more fruity. :)
Coffee (and caffiene) counts as a drug. They also don't drink tea (which I also don't like), or are really supposed to drink Coke. Sex before marriage is banned, so is gambling (and alcohol and cigarettes). It's just one of their rules (and if you break them, then you aren't allowed in the temple). If you want to look it up, it's all under the banner of "The Word of Wisdom".
When I said I was leaving the church and tendered my resignation, I was asked by my bishop (leads what CofE would call a parish) if I was in any "trouble" and that people in my position had been helped before...
