lizziec | Trying to find a film

I saw a film on one of the terristrial channels some years ago, and I can only remember the barest facts about it. Ben looks at me like I'm completely insane when I try and describe what I can remember of the film. I'm hoping that someone who reads this can help. Or maybe confirm Ben's suggestion that I'm insane ;)

The film was about a guy who had died and was in ?purgatory (possibly not the right word). He had a review of his life, which happened in a sort of private cinema (his life events were shown as on film) and his life was shown to be generally wasted. While he was there he met (or re-met) a woman he was attracted to. Her life was shown to be generally good. At the end, they're put on busses to go on to the next stage - his is destined to go back to earth so he can try again and she to go on to heaven. He breaks off his bus and jumps on hers. The authorities decide to let him go on with her. Possibly because they were so touched by the love story ;)

Anyway, please help. Either I'm insane, I have a great imagination or it is a real film I really saw. In which case, please tell me it's real and if possible what it is called?
