Ok, I'm stupid. Had to call ben at lan to ask how to work the grill on our cooker. Sausages set smoke alarm off. Had to get out step ladder to switch it off cos I couldn't find the pokey stick. Was standing right under it. Ears hurt now still, hours later. Hearing also feels dulled - like when I'm in an aeroplane and the pressure will not equalize.
More upsettingly, in my rush to shut the smoke alarm off I broke my laptop power thingy again by ripping the end piece out of the socket with my foot. It's in three distinct pieces now.
Feel ill - headachey, tired and blocked up (especially my ears :() :(

Date: Mon, Oct. 3rd, 2005 06:08 pm (UTC)I broke kim's laptop powersupply once and was lucky not to have snapped the motherboard itself *wince*. Fortunately it was just the power connector which was a 1.50 part from Maplins.
