I got this in my email inbox.
I have investigated the news misuse that you have both reported and come to
the conclusion that you have both posted articles which are not suitable
news posts to ukc.misc. Please note that the group exists for short term
discussions only. It must not be used for advertisements, ridicule, making
accusations, threats or having arguments.
Please consider this to be a formal warning, check the Good Practice
Guidelines on E-mail and News Posting and the Regulations for the Use of
Computing Facilities at the University of Kent.

To be fair, although provoked, we did take the piss out of him quite substantially. And it was most certainly an argument.
Not saying she's right, but by the letter of the regs she's got the book on her side.
