I have to say I do enjoy the comedy politicians who are often not politically correct, Boris Johnson is a prime example. This could be seen as a bit of a Borrisism... but then there's also Prince Charles, Jeffrey Archer, Robert Kilroy-Silk... I could go on.
One thing I saw on HIGNFY once was someone saying that there's a tendancy for politicians to get caught up in their own little world and not really "get" what's going on outside that. Either this is a case of that or Ken Livingstone is just anti-semetic.
Anyway, political correctness has gone too far in politics (hence "political" correctness I suppose), but here he just seems to be being offensive for no good reason. Hence either he hates Jews or he's confused, whatever.
Ken was good on HIGNFY though.
Clearly I have one source for gaining political insight. ;)
