Philip proposed this morning that we watch a film together and chose Gattaca, a film I really love. I was reminded of the first time I watched it. I hadn't managed to see it in the cinema so I brought it on Video. Phil was at school, mum was at work, and I sat down to watch it. I found I loved this film. It was a beautiful portrayal of a man changing his stars and at the same time a frightening vision of a future which could happen. I didn't expect the identity of the policeman, and certainly not the moving montage at the end showing the differeing fates of Eugene and Jerome. I rarely cry at films and yet at the end of Gattaca I found myself crying and then laughing at myself for doing so. It was at this point that Philip came home and I'm sure he thought I was quite, quite mad. And still it remains one of my alltime favourite films. If you haven't seen it I reccommend you do so, right now :P
