Well, actually, very engaged :D Ben and I got officially engaged yesterday. Just so I can get this out of the way, no, we don't have a proper ring yet, only a tempory one (the one i got for my 18th birthday), the wedding won't be until the autumn after I graduate on the grounds that:

  1. I want to graduate with my maiden surname on the certificate
  2. I don't want the stress of arranging said wedding till I've finished my exams
  3. It's not fair on ben to live with me when I'm studying for my finals ;)

For the nosier among you...ben asked me ;)

So yea, yesterday was very very manic. We told ben's parents, my mum and a couple of other people then went and changed the topic on irc so that people could find out faster. Sorry to those of you who didn't get the irl treatment, it wasn't intentional really but ben and I only have so many miles in our feet and we wanted people to know :)

Carmina Burana was most excellent :) Last bits of last movement were best :D

Seeing mamma and Phil was good. I got very drunk on champaign. I curse whichever person encouraged me by saying "you only get engaged once". Thank you to rah who gave me orange juice...I drank the whole carton eventually :)

Right...got to sort myself out for church now :D

I know that the traditional thing is to say "well done", but I can also see how that is all blase & empty. I suppose the best representation of feeling is that scene from "The Sound of Music" after Ralph kisses Liesl & she stands in the doorway of the magic gazebo going "wheeeeeeeeeee!!!!".
So, a very big "wheeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!" to the both of you!

so lets think about this rationally

she doesn't want to be organising it whilst she's doing exams
but
everything has to be booked some time in advance
the wedding is in Woodmansterne
the reception will be somewhere in the sutton bansted croydon area
trapper^ben lives in canterbury
trapper^mamma amazingly ehough lives in the area of the wedding
so while trapper^ben plans who do we think does the running..........

can't think
no

not that she minds of course and the purple crepe witha red hatwould look very nice for a mother of the bride

The wedding was in Lutterworth
The reception was in Ullesthorpe
The Bride was in Canterbury
The Groom was in California
The Bridesmaid was in France
The Grooms Parents were in Suffolk
The Brides Parents were in Lutterworth

... and we did all of ours ;) also, once the church and reception is booked it can wait until after finals ;)

also, she has the best bridesmaids ever ;)
