Freshers Fair

I went to Fresher's Fair today for the first time in a long time and I must say I was very dissappointed - the layout was cack and much better when they held it in the sports hall. It was more organised with better ventalation then and all societies in one place rather then spread out over three (Marquee, Venue, Lighthouse) though I'm informed it was better than last year's effort. I just know I nearly suffocated in the Venue.

Another downer was the lack of freebies. I came back from my years Freshers Fair with all the pens I needed for the whole academic year along with sweets and other stuff.

What did I get this year?

A (small)bar of Maya Gold, a keyring and two condoms (both from the Marie Stopes stall).

Well I was pretty impressed with the quality of all three freebies but there used to be so many.

I did enjoy seeing [livejournal.com profile] nert and monkey Allan (as seen in most of the videos on Many Lemons) dressed as a ninja, along with a couple of others on the Compsoc stall.

I'm now sitting outside the Gulb abusing the wireless that exists somewhere in Cornwallis and listening to the kind of cack that passes for music and marvelling at a. How many freshers there are on campus b. how very little they wear and c. how many parents still appear to be around with their offspring.

For closing I shall leave you with Marie Stopes' "Wilbur", who amused me. He is on all the Marie Stopes posters at the moment promoting Birth Control/Safe Sex awareness and he is also on my keyring ;)

Check it out :)
